The partnership kicked off December 16 with a pep rally

Mastery Charter Schools is proud to announce a special partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers’ Jr. 76ers program. The partnership will help students build basketball, academic and life skills.

We’re thrilled to welcome the Philadelphia 76ers’ Jr. 76ers to work with our students at Mastery Pickett. As a mission-driven organization, we feel naturally connected to their efforts to inspire and educate our students throughout our community. We want to thank both the Philadelphia 76ers and Maxwell Brown for forming this partnership,” said Sarah Kurpel, director of athletics and extracurricular programming at Mastery.

The partnership kicked off December 16 with a pep rally at Mastery Charter School Pickett Campus in Germantown. The 6th grade boys’ basketball team and 10th grade mentees of the gettingtheMAXoutoflife mentoring program got new basketball uniforms, and the school got a banner to hang in the gym official recognizing the relationship with the Jr. 76ers program.

76ers legend World B. Free, Squad 76 and Jr. 76ers coaches attended the celebratory event.

The partnership was facilitated by gettingtheMaxoutoflife, which provides a mentorship program for Pickett students.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity to work with Mastery students and have the Sixers come on board and help me inspire, empower and educate these young men,” said Maxell Brown who runs his gettingtheMAXoutoflife mentorship program at Mastery Pickett Campus. “We hope to use basketball to help reinforce the importance of education, teamwork and persistence to help our youth find the greatness from within.”
