May 28 - Update

PHILADELPHIA:

Mastery Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Governor Wolf’s Announcement

You may have read that Governor Wolf announced that Philadelphia would be moving to the “yellow” category on June 5, meaning that some businesses can reopen with limited attendance. This will not impact our schools, which will continue to run with fully virtual instruction through the end of the school year.

Please know that we are very hard at work on a plan for the fall, and will share more details with you as they are solidified. Our first priority above all is student and staff health and safety, and that is driving all of our planning decisions.

Parent Action Team Meeting: Thursday, June 4th

Please join us for first virtual Mastery-wide Parent Action Team Meeting on Thursday, June 4 from 5pm – 6pm.  Our agenda will include updates on charter school funding, Renaissance turnarounds, charter renewals, safety and Mastery Votes.  CEO Scott Gordon will join us for the discussion.  Details to follow.  RSVP here.  Email MasteryParentAction@masterycharter.org with questions.

Thank you, as always, for your support and partnership. I hope you have a wonderful end to your week!

CAMDEN:

Mastery Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

You may have read that Governor Murphy announced that New Jersey graduates would be able to hold graduation ceremonies (though with social distancing precautions in place). In light of this, we are reviewing our graduation plans. If you have a graduating senior from Mastery High School of Camden, the school will be in touch with more details as soon as they are finalized. Please know that we are prioritizing safety while also recognizing how much your student deserves to be celebrated!

Please know that we are very hard at work on a plan for the fall, and will share more details with you as they are solidified. Our first priority above all is student and staff health and safety, and that is driving all of our planning decisions.
